Sometimes I think it’s sort of crazy to think that my friends and I are old enough to be doing things like getting married or having babies or even buying houses. I met Megan way back in high school…it’s been seven years since we graduated. Does that count as way back?? Megan and I met in high school, sang in choir together and shared a lot of the same friends. So, when she reached out to me about shooting her wedding, I was more then a little excited. Also, it felt sort of surreal. If you told me in high school I’d end up being a wedding photographer, I probably would have laughed. Weird punk rock girls don’t necessarily dream about photographing gorgeous sappy days like weddings. But hey, here I am and loving every minute of it!

The wedding took place at Northmoreland Park, perched on a hill with views more reminiscent to West Virginia then PA. Megan’s theme was that of woodland, which was brought out with rustic details of wood and greenery. Keeping with the theme, the first look and the rest of the day’s events took place among pines and an open clearing.

Megan and Jared are seriously the cutest and their friends were so entertaining to hang out with all day even with the soggy weather. This was by far the rainiest wedding I have ever documented, as in the rain didn’t give up for a single minute. But everyone involved seriously made the best of it. Huge props to Megan for not allowing it to ruin her day, when stuff like that happens all you can do is embrace it full heartedly. And we did nothing less than that! During the wedding party “formals” a little dueling even took place with use of clear umbrellas! If that’s not taking on your weird side on your wedding day, I don’t know what is!

The day was filled with silly moments, lots of laughter and tons cool dance moves. We frolicked in the rain, ate cupcakes from Oakmont Bakery and jammed out to Megan and Jared’s favorite songs. It was the perfect day for these two perfectly in-love people.
