Cozy Late Autumn Elopement at Glasbern Inn | Zaa'Raa+David

Zaa’Raa+David, love spending their days together whether that be outside in the mountains or at home on their couch with their two cats DJ+Zipper. They complement each other through the weirdness that is life and in their words “never make each other feel bad about being awkward fishes”. For these two it was only natural that they desired an elopement over a big wedding day. Less social pressure, more time to be themselves and much less stressful and involved when it came to planning.

Zaa’Raa and David met online after Dave asked her what her Fenty foundation number was...to his surprise she didn't use makeup, but replied anyway. From there they began talking which eventually led to a first date at a Chinese buffet. David asked her out first, but she picked the place. Starting out their relationship with balance and compromise. Which clearly set the tone for their relationship that would later lead to a proposal a few years later.

For their proposal David had made a big elaborate plan. But alas due to pending covid tests and December snow storms those plans were put on hold. Not wanting to wait any longer he proposed to Zaa’Raa in their living room, while their cats watched with excitement...their humans were finally making it official!

Zaa’Raa and David wanted to keep the morning half of their day chill and relaxed. Mainly focusing on enjoying each other's company. They chose to start their day with breakfast in bed in their suite at the historic Glasbern Inn. They then got into their hiking attire and we headed out to Hawk Mountain for a mid-morning hike. It was insanely windy and a bit chilly but they were total troopers and embraced the two hour hike out and back to the main overlook point. We even saw a few birds gliding on the thermals despite the wind!

Afterwards, they took a mid-day break before getting into their ceremony attire. In the afternoon they met up with a small group of family for their short ceremony. They had hoped for a sunset backdrop but the rain was persistent. They moved the ceremony inside, however we still managed to get outside for their formal photos, where we took the two of them around the beautiful grounds at Glasbern.

They ended the day with a thoughtfully curated multi-course farm to table meal in the private dining room of the main lodge. Along with dinner, they shared cake and champagne with their families. Enjoying their time together after their relaxed, meaningful elopement day.
