Three Reasons Why You Need To Hire a Wedding Planner

  1. The responsibilities from beginning to end, are taken off your hands

A planner will work with you from start to finish. They keep track of all of your vendors and correspond so you don’t have to. A planner will assist with scheduling. They will be knowledgeable in when you should book vendors and when to schedule certain consults or run throughs, such as cake tastings. Planners also relieve your stress on the day of your wedding by coordinating events and vendors to ensure everything runs smoothly.

2. Your wallet will thank-you

You may think hiring a wedding planner might be too expensive or cut into your budget too much. However, a wedding planner can actually save you money in the long run, by helping you budget accordingly. Even though you may have an idea of how much you want to spend, a wedding planner can help you break it all down. They will handle managing the overwhelming spreadsheets and will show you realistically what to expect to spend for each area of your wedding. In addition to breaking down the numbers, a planner can at times get vendor to vendor discounts/referral codes to help you save even more; being that they often have strong relationships with other vendors in your city.

3. they ensure your vision is fully executed

It can be difficult to get every detail right when you’re trying to plan a wedding all on your own. From flowers to decor and everything in between, trying to execute your dream wedding on your own can end up turning more into a nightmare. A wedding planner’s job is to ensure every detail of your vision is brought to the table on your big day. Let your wedding planner be a wedding perfectionist and know that everything will end up even more beautiful than you could have imagined.

Shadow Lake Golf & Racquet Club Wedding | Alexis&Benjy

Shadow Lake Golf & Racquet Club Wedding | Alexis&Benjy

When Alexis first reached out to me about photographing her wedding I was so excited! We went to high school together and as you grow and travel down new path’s it can be refreshing to reconnect with those from your past. Alexis and Benjy met at the University of Pittsburgh, but Benjy grew up in Rochester NY. This led to them choosing to have their wedding just outside of the city. Being travelers, along with photographing the wedding, my fiancé/second shooter JP and I chose to use the weekend as a mini getaway to celebrate our 7 year anniversary. It was so fun exploring the hidden gems of the area and indulging in the vegan food scene Rochester has to offer! The weekend was bursting with so many lovey dovey vibes!

The wedding day was took place at Shadow Lake Golf & Racquet Club, which was surrounded by beautiful grounds and a large pond. It was an elegant outdoor ceremony with a tented reception…the perfect summer wedding!

Benjy is Jewish and with that there were many traditional aspects to the day. Before the ceremony the couple signed the ketubah (the marriage contract), surrounded by only their closest family. At the end of the wedding ceremony Benjy of course broke the glass followed by the guests shouting mazal tov!

The reception took place at the edge of the pond. The tables were decorated with center pieces handmade by Alexis, which included greenery and childhood photos of the couple. I really loved the unique and personal touch the photos gave to each table.

The guests were there to have a good time and we got down to the likes of “You Shook Me All Night Long” and a group sing along even broke out to “Friends in Low Places”…a secret favored wedding song of mine.

Alexis and Benjy’s wedding day was filled with so many sincerely meaningful moments. It was so wonderful traveling to New York to document this part of their love story! Here’s to the countless years that lay ahead for this devoted softhearted couple!

Beaver Station Wedding | Laura&Bill

Beaver Station Wedding | Laura&Bill

Last year when I met Bill, Laura and their two kids at Succup Nature Park for their engagement session, we shared so many laughs together. Bill and Laura are so easy going and sweet; I knew their wedding would be just as enjoyable!

Their wedding day was casual and laid back. They each got ready at separate locations; Laura at a hotel filled with her best girlfriends and daughter. Before leaving for Beaver Station, Laura sat and read a letter Bill had written her. It had her laughing which is their relationships true form.

The wedding and reception took place at Beaver Station in Beaver, PA. The ceremony was outdoors under an elegant tall gazebo. The kids were such an important part of the day, and to signify the family becoming one, Laura, Bill and the children all poured different colored sand into a frame. It made a beautiful layered art piece that I’m sure will be a long cherished item in their family.

The reception also took place at Beaver Station, with a mix of outdoor and indoor events lending to the casual feel of the day. The theme was margaritas and a taco bar. Who doesn’t want that for their wedding?! Along with fun food and drink options, Beaver Station sits right next to active train tracks, which gives it a unique appeal. The guests were able to witness many trains go past over the course of the day!

The day was truly filled with so much happiness...and it was so wonderful to be a part of Bill and Laura’s wedding day. Here's to the many years that lay ahead for this comical couple!
