Vintage Glam Winter Wedding | Sarah+Charlie

Sarah+Charlie, love spending their days together whether that be checking out live music or at home on their couch with a good movie. When we met them for the first time at their home I could instantly tell that they are best friends. They are both genuinely wonderful people and are such a good time to be around!

Sarah’s love for vintage styles and their shared appreciation for the sentimental romantic parts of life, made it no surprise that they chose to have their wedding day at a historic restored train depot on their twelve year anniversary.

Sarah and Charlie met in high school while standing in line for a roller coaster at Kennywood (a Pittsburgh summer amusement park staple). They chatted often and eventually after breaking up with her then boyfriend, they started hanging out more and more. They look back to their first date, Valentine's day 2010 and acknowledge they have been inseparable ever since.

Charlie proposed exactly ten years and seven months after their first date!  Every year they go on a vacation with Sarah's family to the beach in Ocean City, New Jersey.  But that year's trip would end up being a bit more exciting. Little did Sarah know, Charlie had been working for months on creating Sarah's dream ring (Sarah has worked in the jewelry business for years, so it had to be perfect!).  On the morning of the proposal, Charlie went out on a coffee "date" with Sarah's youngest sister, which has been their tradition ever since they started dating.  He let her in on the secret and they came up with a plan!  Charlie suggested that they go down to the beach to take family pictures to get one for their Christmas card.  As they were standing by the ocean, he got down on one knee and proposed!  Sarah recalls “It was absolutely perfect and then we got to spend the rest of the week relaxing and celebrating together!”

Their February wedding at DiSalvo's Station had all of the “extra” vintage glam touches. From the vintage brooch bouquets to the personalized match box favors and handwritten calligraphy signage, the attention spent on those special details did not go unnoticed.

Sarah wore a Beaded lace A-line dress with floral applique and cascading train, paired with stunning and dramatic matching cape. Charlie wore a black tux with gold cufflinks and champagne tie. They saw one another for the first time as Sarah walked down the aisle, in the bright naturally lit Saint Joseph Chapel at Seton Hill. After their ceremony, Sarah and Charlie chose to take about 15 minutes for themselves away from their guests in one of the beautiful church parlor rooms. Being intentional about soaking in that moment of just getting married was such a special element they built into their day. I recommend this to anyone getting married!

Once at their reception they popped outside one last time for photos on the old train platform and then it was time to kick off the night! With a multi-course plated dinner, live music, one of the most impressive cookie tables we’ve ever seen (mainly baked by Sarah’s mom!), golden vintage décor and a basement cigar bar the evening felt like a bougie 1920’s dinner party!

Their guests loved the vibes and so did we! From the sentimental touches, the attention to detail and the connection these two share, Sarah and Charlie’s wedding day was truly beautiful in every way!
